09/04/07 — A national child helpline, 'Mali Telefon', has recently been set up in Bosnia and Herzegovina, partly thanks to a financial contribution from Kinderpostzegels. The child helpline is an initiative of the association 'Women in B & H', or 'Udruenja "ENA BIH"' from Mostar. The child helpline is open from 9am to 9pm every day and volunteers answer the questions that come in. The reason for setting up the child helpline is that children in this country are frequently confronted with violence. They often do not know how they should react to it. There is little information available for them and they are frightened of seeking help from others.
