The very first Children's Stamps Panel has launched!

The very first Children's Stamps Panel has launched!

For years, Kinderpostzegels has been the leading charity where children help other children. In 2024, we're taking another step to further involve children: the first Kinderpostzegels Children's Panel. This will further strengthen and enhance our mission "for children, by children."

Children are experts in their own world, and their fresh perspective and creative ideas are invaluable. By involving children in shaping the work and goals of Kinderpostzegels, we work not only for them but also with them. The panel gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and share their perspectives.

In November 2024, the very first meeting of the children's panel took place at the Kinderpostzegels office in Leiden. It was a fantastic day full of introductions, creativity, and, of course, foosball! The children delved deeply into our mission, got to know each other, and got a taste of what's to come.

What will the Children's Panel do?

Our young panelists have an agenda full of exciting and educational activities, for example:

Working visits : The children will first visit Kinderpostzegels projects. They'll see where the money raised goes and delve into topics like loneliness, a safe place, and poverty. This way, they learn to empathize with the world of children who need support. During their time as children's panel members, they represent not only their own voices—but also those of children who desperately need our help.

Roundtable discussions : We regularly organize meetings where we discuss important topics with the children's panel. Together, we develop solutions, discuss current issues, and give children the opportunity to share their ideas with us. These discussions allow Kinderpostzegels to better connect with what children truly value. The children's panel's advice directly influences the decisions we make!
