Children's Stamps and the Orange Fund jointly support initiatives that help families in poverty
Children's Stamps and the OranjeFonds are launching the Strengthening Families Together program for social initiatives in the Caribbean part of our Kingdom. The program focuses on initiatives that help families - children, young people and parents - in vulnerable circumstances.
“Poverty and insecurity are major challenges on the Caribbean islands. Although these problems cannot be completely solved by funds, we will provide a helping hand together with Kinderposttempels,” says Oranje Fund director Sandra Jetten. “By supporting initiatives that focus on children, young people and their parents, we strive to ensure that families in vulnerable circumstances do not have to be alone and can participate in society. The funds have reserved 2.5 million euros for this purpose. The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations will make a one-off financial contribution of 500,000 euros to the program.”
Strengthening organizations
With the three-year program we are helping fifteen social organizations on the islands by strengthening their skills. These are organizations that promote equal opportunities for children and young people, support parents in vulnerable circumstances and/or tackle poverty problems.
The aim is to permanently strengthen these organizations and make them more sustainable. This is achieved through financial support, knowledge sharing and a network. In addition, we will support the infrastructure for capacity strengthening of social organizations through a number of partners.
Organizations in Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius and Saba can register until July 15 via the Collaborating Funds Caribbean . Participants receive tools for three years to strengthen their skills, so that they can continue as a sustainable organization after the program ends.
