Since 2014, Kinderposttempels has been one of the regular beneficiaries of the National Postcode Lottery. Every year we receive a wonderful amount of 500,000 euros from them.

Destination amount National Postcode Lottery

With the money we received in 2014, we were able to start the National Expertise Center for Child Abuse (LECK). In the Netherlands, at least 120,000 children are victims of abuse or sexual abuse every year. Professionals from all over the Netherlands can call on the center to make a correct diagnosis and quickly draw up a treatment plan. The expertise center is a collaboration between the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam, Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam and University Medical Center Utrecht.

Prof. Dr. Hugo Heymans is the initiator together with the Chance for a Child Foundation: “By bundling existing knowledge and expertise about child abuse and making it available throughout the Netherlands day and night, we help those children who really need it.”

About the National Postcode Lottery

The National Postcode Lottery was founded in 1989 to support charities. 2.8 million Dutch people now play the lottery. They have a chance to win hundreds of thousands of prizes every month. At the same time, the participants support good causes, because half of the ticket prize is intended for 99 regular charities in the field of development cooperation, human rights, nature conservation, the environment and social cohesion in the Netherlands. Thanks to the participants of the Postcode Lottery, charities can continue their important work and start new projects.

Since the establishment of the National Postcode Lottery, more than 5 billion euros have been given to people and nature. Since 2005, the Postcode Lottery has also been active in the United Kingdom, Sweden and Germany, where the People's Postcode Lottery, the Svenska PostkodLotteriet and the Deutsche Postcode Lotterie raise funds for charities. In the Netherlands, the National Postcode Lottery collaborates with the BankGiro Lottery and the Friends Lottery within the Charity Lotteries. Novamedia/Postcode Lotteries is the third largest private donor to charities in the world.
