Strengthening families together

Poverty and uncertainty about livelihood are major challenges in the Caribbean islands. Kinderpostzegels (Children's Stamps) and the Oranje Fonds (Orange Fund) have joined forces to help families cope with these challenges. Together, we support 14 local organizations in Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and Saba. The initiatives we support focus on children, young people, and their parents. In this way, we strive to ensure that families in vulnerable circumstances do not have to face their lives alone and can participate in society.

At the end of the day, we all return to our families. That's why family plays such a crucial role in our society.

The fourteen selected organizations have long been committed to supporting families in the Caribbean islands. Together, they reach a broad spectrum of specific sub-target groups:

  • single (teenage) mothers
  • children of parents living in poverty
  • early school leavers
  • mothers and children who are victims of domestic violence
  • young people who have come into contact with the justice system
  • families whose members are undocumented

Through parenting support, work-study programs, debt counseling, promoting participation, encouraging child development, and increasing parental involvement, program participants contribute to strengthening families in the Caribbean.
