The card game for surprising conversations

Game explanation

  1. Shuffle all the cards. Set the jokers aside. Deal three cards and one joker to each player. Place the remaining cards in a deck on the table, face down.
  2. Decide together who goes first. The first player chooses one of the three cards from their hand to play: Read the question aloud and then answer it yourself. Discussing, talking, and asking questions is allowed.
  3. Tough cards? Use a Switch or a Joker.
Swap – You may swap one card at the start of each turn. Draw a new card from the deck and slide one of your three cards to the bottom of the deck. But remember: you must play your new card immediately.
Joker – Use the joker and you can have one of your cards answered by another player. The points are yours.
  4. Played a card? Place the card, face up, in a pile: your growth pile. Draw a new card so you have three cards in your hand again. Then it's the next player's turn.

Winning with the growth pile

Place all played cards face up in a pile: your growth pile. A played card always scores points. Any answer is correct. The score is printed on the card. Keep track of your score. Agree on your goal beforehand, for example:

  • Play together:
The four of you must collect 320 points on your growth pile as quickly as possible.
  • Play in teams:
The first team to reach 160 points on their growth pile wins.
  • Play individually:
Who will be the first to collect 80 points with their growth pile?

Decide in advance what the prize is. What's the reward for the winner(s)? Anything goes: having ice cream together, choosing what to eat tomorrow, skipping your chores for a day, and so on.

Tip!

Short on time, or perhaps want to play on the go? Keep it simple: take turns drawing and playing cards.

Always a fun conversation starter!
