To achieve our goals, we work strategically with both large and small partners. With large partners, we realize sustainable system change; long-term and based on trust. We strengthen small-scale organizations at the local level, for example through projects such as the Kinderportemonnee. This way, we connect the big picture to the daily reality of children.
We focus on all children aged 6 to 14 in the Dutch Kingdom, West Africa, and South Asia. Annually, we reach hundreds of thousands of children through schools and our program by informing, involving, and activating them.
Child Participation
Only with children can we truly make a difference. We look at the world through their eyes and recognize them as experts in their own lives. Children contribute ideas, participate in discussions, and make decisions about what affects them. Their pure perspective opens doors that remain closed to adults. That is why we give children the space, trust, and knowledge to contribute in their own way. Children have a fresh perspective and often know better than anyone what is needed in their family, class, neighborhood, or online world. Their insights are indispensable. Child participation is not a side issue for us, but the starting point. In everything we do, the child is central.
Through our unique child participation, we reach all children, giving them the opportunity to learn, participate in discussions, make decisions, and take action. They gain knowledge about their rights and important themes, think and decide on matters that concern them, and advocate for children in vulnerable situations. By taking children seriously, giving them space, and actively involving them, they experience that their voice matters. This makes them more resilient. Through our programs, we offer children in vulnerable situations three essential building blocks for resilience: safety, a safety net, and skills.

Through our programmes, we provide children in vulnerable situations with three essential building blocks for resilience
Safety
creating safe spaces and reducing adverse childhood experiences
safety net
strengthening social networks around children – through buddy projects, sports, culture, and neighborhood initiatives
skills
developing socio-emotional resilience, self-confidence, and problem-solving skills
Our work is organized along the action lines of our multi-year strategy (2026-2030), in which the pillars of resilience and child participation are the most important.
Direct support for children
We continue to invest in strengthening the resilience of children in vulnerable situations. Through expert social partners, we offer direct support in children's living environments.
Activating and participating
Kinderpostzegels takes on an executive role in activating children and strengthening mutual solidarity. Our iconic initiatives – the children's stamp campaign and the Children's Wallet – form the beating heart of our organization. Here, children experience that they themselves can make a difference.
Awareness and policy influencing
More than ever, we leverage our broad reach among the Dutch public and our role as an influencer. We become, as it were, the megaphone for the voices of children. We listen, gather, and amplify their voices through panels, surveys, campaigns, and meetings. In this way, we bring their perspective to places where change is needed.
Connect and learn
We are playing an increasingly active role as a knowledge partner and connector in realising sustainable change. We connect children, schools and social organisations – locally, nationally and internationally – to learn together. We create space for encounters and exchange: meetings where children, partners and policymakers truly get to know and learn from each other. We share stories, knowledge and experiences.
Innovating and Driving
For decades, we have played a pioneering role in the youth field. In the coming years, we will continue to stimulate innovation through research, experimentation, and scaling. Together with knowledge partners, we research what children need and translate these insights into innovative interventions. Through pilots and scaling projects, we test innovative approaches and bring effective solutions to the attention of a wider audience.

Where do we make an impact?
We operate in three regions: the Kingdom of the Netherlands, West Africa, and South Asia. These regions have been carefully selected. Through strong partnerships, personal contact, and long-term collaborations, we maximize the number of children we can help in these regions. This has a ripple effect: we influence the surrounding area and thus reach even more children.
We believe in the power of linking and learning and therefore invest heavily in knowledge sharing and connecting partners within our network.
