Our working method
To achieve our goals, we collaborate with partners . We operate programmatically, guided by our theory of change . Our work is organized around three pillars: resilience, school attendance, and children for each other.
We mainly focus on children between the ages of ten and fifteen in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, West Africa and South Asia.
Our three pillars:
We are a movement for, by, and with children. Child participation is the common thread in everything we do and a powerful engine for strengthening resilience. A child who is resilient, seen, and grows up in a loving environment gets a good start. And that lasts a lifetime. We offer help to children who cannot make the most of themselves due to poverty, loneliness, or problems at home. For example, with workshops to boost self-confidence or by linking them to a support figure.
We support partners who encourage children to continue developing despite difficulties.
Resilience
With our programs, we offer children in vulnerable situations three essential building blocks for resilience:
Veiligheid
Every child has the right to an education. This requires school supplies and a healthy meal. After all, you can't learn on an empty stomach without a pen and notebook. Moreover, school is a place where children feel safe, where they develop cognitively and socially and emotionally, where mental health is taken into account, and where they can continue to receive a good education for as long as possible.
vangnet
We believe it's perfectly natural to involve children in what we do. We give them a place to participate, contribute ideas, and work for other children. For us, participation also means children supporting each other and feeling connected. That's why our program focuses heavily on helping each other, for example, by organizing children's clubs and children's panels, but also through initiatives like the children's stamp campaign and the Children's Wallet.
Vaardigheden
A child who is resilient, valued, and grows up in a loving environment gets off to a good start. And that has a lifelong impact. We offer support to children who, due to poverty, loneliness, or problems at home, are unable to reach their full potential. For example, through workshops to boost self-confidence or by connecting them with a support person.
The pillars don't stand alone; they reinforce each other. By focusing on building resilience, children are better equipped to cope with negative experiences. By involving children in our work, they learn about the challenges children can face and can commit to helping their peers.

"I used to be afraid of tomorrow. Because of you, I've learned that I am stronger than my problems."
Direct support for children
We continue to invest in strengthening the resilience of children in vulnerable situations. Through expert social partners, we offer direct support in children's living environments.
Activating and participating
Kinderpostzegels takes on an executive role in activating children and strengthening mutual solidarity. Our iconic initiatives – the children's stamp campaign and the Children's Wallet – form the beating heart of our organization. Here, children experience that they themselves can make a difference.
Awareness and policy influencing
More than ever, we leverage our broad reach among the Dutch public and our role as an influencer. We become, as it were, the megaphone for the voices of children. We listen, gather, and amplify their voices through panels, surveys, campaigns, and meetings. In this way, we bring their perspective to places where change is needed.
Connect and learn
We are playing an increasingly active role as a knowledge partner and connector in realising sustainable change. We connect children, schools and social organisations – locally, nationally and internationally – to learn together. We create space for encounters and exchange: meetings where children, partners and policymakers truly get to know and learn from each other. We share stories, knowledge and experiences.
Innovating and Driving
For decades, we have played a pioneering role in the youth field. In the coming years, we will continue to stimulate innovation through research, experimentation, and scaling. Together with knowledge partners, we research what children need and translate these insights into innovative interventions. Through pilots and scaling projects, we test innovative approaches and bring effective solutions to the attention of a wider audience.

Where do we make an impact?
We operate in three regions: the Kingdom of the Netherlands, West Africa, and South Asia. These regions have been carefully selected. Through strong partnerships, personal contact, and long-term collaborations, we maximize the number of children we can help in these regions. This has a ripple effect: we influence the surrounding area and thus reach even more children.
We believe in the power of linking and learning and therefore invest heavily in knowledge sharing and connecting partners within our network.
